(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Sen. David Vitter today issued the following statement regarding Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid’s version of the health care bill. The Senate is set to debate the bill over the coming weekend.
“I’ve always said that 2,000 plus paged bills passed in a blur are often riddled with mischief and consequences that often don’t come to light until well after the bill is signed into law, and this bill is a prime example of that.
“Against the will of a majority of the American people, my Democratic colleagues are moving full speed ahead with what they’ve advertised as a $848 billion health care bill that will cut Medicare, increase health costs and premiums and bring about more new taxes.
